GUARANTEED TO DRIVE YOU TO DRINK: EXTRA TASTY

11/28/2008 / Comments (1) / by kitt

Stumbled upon this website that acts as an online bar! How awesome is that? Now getting drinks (or getting drunk) is closer and more accessible than you think.

ExtraTasty features an online bar where you can create and share your own concoctions to other online drinkers. It basically serves as an online drink recipe bar where members can also rate and tag recipes and drinks that they like. The winning recipes with the most number of ratings and tags get to win the 'Drink of the Day!' title. Plus, you can list down all the ingredients you have in your inventory and ExtraTasty will conjure up recipes for you based on those ingredients.

If you're too lazy to go to a bar, go here instead. :P

TIMESCULPTURE

11/24/2008 / Comments (2) / by miguel

This is a new ad for toshiba. It made my jaw-drop to the floor. I used to be so passionate about creating random things, either in photographs, videos, or whatev., and I actually had an awesome time doing it. But, I am losing my mojo, not only because no one really understands the weird things I do, but also because of how school morphs my creative self into a grade-concerned desperado.

Anyway, this inspired me to see the world differently again! hahah

No seriously!!! Come on, it'll take just one minute of your time

WHEN YOU CARE ENOUGH TO HIT SEND

i remember in the early days of the internet, before youtube and facebook, we had to entertain ourselves by sending each other greeting cards. and when some of them had music or animated, we were amazed kingdom come. oh the good old days. well who says e-greeting cards should go away? some ecards certainly dont think so. there really isn't anything technically special with the them (they dont animate or anything at all). what sets them apart is that they are just so darn funny. and you even have the option to put your own captions on some of their images. who knows, maybe you can even fool your friends into thinking you actually have a sense of humor. so try it.

here are some of their current gems:

AMAZING COVERS: UMBRELLA EDITION

11/20/2008 / Comments (0) / by Mark Lim

after that amazing concert, it's only fitting that we do a music post related to that massive rihanna hit that brought the house down at the end of the show. here are some other people's takes on the song. we won't include the more famous covers (ie mandy moore) only those that you might not know about but we think are remarkably good. enjoy.

CYBER SAFETY: PABLO BANILA WAS NEVER A THREAT

11/17/2008 / Comments (1) / by kitt

For those who made all the fuss about a certain Pablo Banila stalking your multiply accounts, you finally have nothing to worry about. He never stalked any of you multiply users:

In an article written by Bianca Consunji of the Philippine Daily Inquirer:
"NO, he’s not a cyber-stalker. Or a group of psychology students doing a project. Or the government in disguise. Pablo Banila is a real person, but he’s not the crazy lowlife that people thought he was.

The truth is, Pablo Banila never really visited every website where his avatar appeared—his bots did. An anonymous reader who identified himself as a retired hacker explained, “Pablo Banila actually is a programmer who uses a program called ‘web crawler.’ Web crawlers were originally used by search engines such as Google and Yahoo to automatically browse web pages on the internet. [This is done so they can] save the data on their database and make an index list of the web pages on the Internet.'"

The scandal roused some overly ridiculous comments and reactions from a myriad of multiply users in the Philippines. Those who once advocated hate towards this seemingly threatening cyber stalker are now shifting to thinking that he is a cool guy. Quite pretentious and vain if you ask me.

ETSY: HANDMADE STUFF SHOPPING GOODNESS

11/11/2008 / Comments (0) / by Mark Lim

Photobucket
etsy is an online store/community where people all over the world gather to sell their handmade goodies. in here you can find stuff ranging from jewelry, paintings, and even clothes and luggage. as long as it's handmade, it's probably in etsy. even a geek like me can find something i would buy, such as these macbook sleeves.

you even have the option to search for where the stuff was made, so in my case i tried philippines, and i was surpised to see some stuff pop up. there weren't that many local etsy sellers but it was cool nonetheless.
Photobucket
another fun way to search for stuff is by color. sure it's gimmicky but still it might be useful if you want to buy a gift for someone who has an inclination for a particular color (ie your mom).

Photobucket
christmas is fast approaching, so if you're looking for something unique to give, and also feel like helping the little folk out, those people who worked hard through blood sweat and tears in order to make that one of a kind earring or purse, here's your chance.

11/09/2008 / Comments (1) / by miguel

i stumbled upon this crazy site where they feature video clips of some guy who uses a blender to crush various objects (i.e. a glowstick, a rubik's cube, an ipod, remotes, cd) - yes, the list goes on and on. The clips are presented by blendtec, a company that creates blenders, mixers, etc. hmmm, strange & interesting viral marketing..

Cream Halloween Ball 2008

unlike migs, i'm not a huge electronica fan but i make it a point to go to cream every year cos... well, i love dressing up. haha. also, it's always fun to see other people all dressed up, especially in cream. hey, it's the one night in a year where you can dress like a total slut and no one would say anything about it. sorry if i keep quoting mean girls. lol.
